I can't get the term "yacht rock" out of my head. It's just been swimming around, inside my brain, since Friday. It's a really asinine way to describe anything, and this is not merely limited to music.

Essentially, Yacht Rock seems to describe many of the recent crop of buzz bands. You know, like Vampire Weekend, and their counterparts. It's not that I necessarily hold any grudge toward these "musicians", it just seems that the music-fashion tie is becoming more largely focused around the, ahem, fashion.

I know looking like you purchase your garments from an L.L Bean catalog means you can rock the fuck outta my ass, but I will take the flamboyance (if you will) of Motley Crüe, any day.
